Alexis Smith
Board Member | PsyD, Doctor of Psychology
Cleveland, Ohio native Dr. Alexis Smith moved to SLO County in 2019 to complete her pre-doctoral internship at Atascadero State Hospital where is now a Clinical Psychologist.
Working with individuals involved in the legal system who are diagnosed with serious mental illnesses, Smith created her workplace DEI committee and is involved in statewide DEI and racial justice initiatives. Affiliated with the American Psychological Association, Association of Black Psychologists, and Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, Alexis has served community organizations such as the Cincinnati Innocence Project and the Intercommunity Justice and Peace Center.

Alexis is living life with her French bulldog, Hugo.
She enjoys the outdoors, travel, visiting family, and educating others on the importance of mental health in minority communities.
